Arabic Vowel Marks { Tashkeel or Harakat } التشكيل أو الحركات Short vowels : To write the marks over or under a letter to make short vowels distinct from long ones when words are read, the Arabic script uses vowel marks to do so. Let's write the letters with the three different vowel marks are : Fat-ha ( َ ) ( a ) (Kas-ra ( ِ ) ( e ) Dhamma ( ُ ) ( u ) The vowel marks or "Tashkeel" in Arabic which are used for short vowels. And we are explained in this lesson ، They are also known as Harakat.. just a different name by some references. fat-ha ( َ ), dhamma ( ُ ), kas-ra ( ِ ), sukoon ( ْ ).
